Pro: It's a Miata.

Pro: It's a newer Miata than an NA.

Con: It's not as small or light as an NA.

Con: People seem to think it's inferior to the NA. People are wrong.

A pro:

Some cons:

(seriously: it's a miata. It'll be way too snug in there, but you'll have heaps of fun.)

Its a 99 or 00 NB. It is a base model and it looks to have the regular antenna mast which means it most likely doesn't have the PEP with the Nardi steering wheel or the Torsen LSD. Now the LSD really is only a big deal if you plan on tracking or auto-xing the car. The black looks to be in good condition. It looks fairly stock but with the Boss Frog or Hard dog Ace roll bar. It actually is a roll bar and not just a silly style bar. The headlights look clear and there isn't any tupperware on the sides. If the price is right get it. NB's are a shit ton of fun. You can always find a Torsen or the Nardi wheel from a salvage yard when shopping for a miata you are best off getting the best one you can find for the best price.

You sure it's a base model? It has the 15" wheels instead of the base 14".

You just implied that the Miata has cons.

You're gonna pay for that.

Black cloth interior is what makes me believe it is a base. the LS models have the tan leather with the tan top.

Hmm, that's odd. I think tan leather and top were options/package (my '02 has both of them), the best way to tell if it's a base or not would be to see if it has power or roll-up windows. Sadly, I don't think we can see it.

The options packages changed in 01 with the refresh. All 99-00 LS models had tan leather and tan tops. what they called base just had the black cloth interior. As far as I know the only deviation was with the 99 10AE model with the black and blue leather and blue top.

My 99 is a base with the PEP but with the 14 inch wheels. I still get the Torsen and the fancy Nardi wheel that just feels so good in your hands. I believe that from 01 all cars ended up with the Nardi wheel. I honestly don't think too many NBs came with roll up windows if any at all. I have not seen an NB with manual windows. I also believe that a leather interior of any color but tan was only on the Mazdaspeed but I may be wrong there might be some NB2s out there with the charcoal leather. Also with the NB1s I believe all LS trims came with front fog lamps.

Actually all 99-00 Miata came from the factory without foglamps, they were all dealer-installed. The 15's could mean it's a sport model (which included cloth or optional leather) with a torsen.

I'm not so sure on that fact you have about the fogs. But you are entirely correct with the possibility of this car being a sport, which would make it a unicorn car for the auto-x guys.
